Iron and its alloys such as cast iron and types of steel are considered ferrous metals. About 90% of artifacts and machine parts are made of ferrous metals. One of the reasons for the high consumption of these metals in industry is the high strength and abundance of iron ore in nature. Iran is one of the countries that is very rich in iron ore.Special iron is not used in the industry because pure iron is very soft. Cast iron is made from the pure combination of carbon (coal), silicon, phosphorus, manganese, sulfur, and all kinds of steels are made from the combination of pure iron with carbon, nickel, chromium, and cobalt.
